This is a cap gun.

Could be an old starter pistol. Doesn't look like the cylinder lines up with the barrel to actually be a revolver.

aw, ah it is a cap gun

Yep, some of those old toy guns were almost identical to the real ones. I once dug a toy derringer that I thought was real until I got it cleaned really good.
