Will I, can I, or did I.... meet my year end goal? Look and see.

Hey everyone, well, it's basically the end of the year, it has been a long year of hunting with many things changing through out ( volume increase, volume decrease, new order banks and dump banks ect..) So my goal was to find 1500 40's and 500 90's this year, well, I made it on the 40's and am really falling short on the 90's as you can see.

This is how I keep track of my finds, I am old school as you can see, no fancy spread sheets or such, just my good ole reliable Composition Book, it works, it's simple, and it's easy to maintain. So this is the last 2 pages of my year, you can see exactly what I searched and found. I don't write a bunch of extra things down in it like how many Walkers, Bens, or Hair cuts I have recieved ( though I do keep all of those in a separate jar, an more than a quarter of my 90's are those), it just keeps it simpler for me. The little number by the bags are how many were in the bags I found, you can also see my ratio of skunks to producing boxes. In the rows the smaller number to the left of the bigger numbers are what was found and added to the bigger numbers.

Ok, hope you all enjoy seeing my year, I know it is not over yet, but, it will be tomorrow. I do still have 2 boxes and 1 bag coming tomorrow, so there IS a chance of a MIRACLE happening and getting a killer box or 2 or my dream bag showing up ( ha ha, ya right) so I'll tally in my results from tomorrow and show you my final #'s. Hey Styfflin, that happened to me last week with Christmas and it turned out good for me, right now, it's not looking too good, I just finished the 2 boxes and they were both skunks, so I am on my way out now to dump them and pick up the bag, so it's up to the bag now, though it will probably be a bag of dumps, if not, this would be 3 bags in a row that produce and I don't see that happening. I'll let ya know what I find. HH, Maverick.

Goals met or not, thats a very good year Mav. Nearly 2000 silver halves is nothing to sneeze at.

Hey Arkie, I set those goals but really never thought I would hit them, just figured I'd set them and see what happened, I am very happy with my finds though, as you can see I have a high ratio of skunks so I am surprised I did what I did. HH, Maverick.

Ok, last update, last 2 boxes and bag were all skunks, so I guess I'm ending the year with 4 skunks, I still have 4 boxes coming in this week so I may start offf the New Year good, we'll see. Ok, so here is my total boxes and skunks for the year, if I added everything right, I counted the bags as 2 boxes each to keep it simple.

Hey omega, I have 1 branch that lets me bring in bags for cash, the other branches if my dump bank all know me and bag my boxes up the minute I bring them in( pretty much come to the counter with bags when I walk in) so we have an agreement that I can bring them in with the MWRs cut on the sides and left open that way for easier bagging for them, saves us both time. HH, and Happy New Year to you omega.

Nice job Maverick. Congratulations on another great year. I love your old school notebook Those are some very solid numbers, and I think it's great that you make entries every week. Keeps things consistent and encourages you to keep pressing ahead. You are a good example for how it should be done for other new hunters out there. The unknown expectation of what might be in our next pickup is the driving force behind those of us who enjoy this hobby...it's awesome. It's also interesting to see how closely your skunk percentages equate to mine. I did a lot of volume in 2013 and my skunks for the year came in at 67%...almost identical to yours. Anyway, good luck with your 2014 goals. I hope that next monster box or bag is right around the corner for you!
