Work Tag ID?

I found this work tag while digging at an old farmhouse. At least I think it is a work tag. It is about the size of half-dollar. I think it is from the 1980's. If you think it is anything else, please let me know. Thank you.

I have worked at two different places that issued work tags for us to check out tools. Both were brass and almost as thick as a coin. I have seen tags that look like that on telephone poles here.

I think your right, it's a work ID. ?I have one from a place I used to work. Looks just like that.

Hi,
A livestock tag...could be. Though, someone said in an earlier post that it is a work tag. Maybe they are too similar to be differentiated? It is thin, aluminum metal with no metallic embossing or incusing. Just black numbering is set over the metal tag.
