Incredible night!! Mark and I have been hitting a Gold Rush Site and digging some nice relics. I got a sweet 12/46 hit on the CTX and called Mark over stating "You will like this one!" Knowing it had potential to be a great find, we videotaped the dig and what a SURPRISE when this baby popped out !! We went crazy as usual!! LOL

Digging any capped bust coin is rare here in CA (or anywhere) and to get a Capped Bust HALF is beyond belief!! We have dug more gold coins in CA than we have Capped Bust coins so this is a VERY SPECIAL find!!

Thanks for looking. I usually have a video to go along with our finds but this needed to be shared ASAP so the video will follow in the near future!!

I'm still on Cloud 9 with this one!!

Thanks for the vote. The fact that this coin is 16 years older than the State of California amazed me when we found it. The rarity of capped bust coins out here is undeniable. We have found more reales and gold cons than we have capped bust coins!! Go figure!!

Thanks again for all who recognize the value and rarity of this coin find in CA ! Now I need to go to Mass and find that Pine Tree !! LOL

A Good Looking Coin, and they are pretty few & far Between in CA, likely more Gold Coins there than Capped Bust Coinage.

We will be putting that video together. I just posted the coin as I wanted to get it on TODAY'S FINDS forum. The video in this case will probably be a while as we have some great footage to put together.

I agree Bigfoot!! 6 gold coins from our California sites but only 2 Bust Coins!! Rare is right!!
