finally some old silver. love the rain . how old is the lantern top Manhattan brass pat 25 1880 on the nob. is it that old pic below ?. good hunt today with my cheap modified harbor freight 9 function md:

It's a harbor freight 9 function metal detector. with the pvc pipe frame and a 6 dollar wet box from walmart lol

thanks its a modified harbor freight 9 function metal detector. made the frame out of PVC pipe . got a 6 $ wet box from walmart.6 $ in PVC . transplanted the guts in to the wet box .it 's more durable now i can take it out in light rain and shallow water without having to worry about problems

it's from a lantern. you know the piece that the glass sits on and the wick comes through. it was patented in 1880 I just don't know how old it is. found it about 8 inches down
