That's not worth a Brass Farthing...lol

Yes, a very rare snag your side of the pond. These 17th C tokens could only be used in the shop of issue. They were illegal tender, but the Govt turned a blind eye because they couldn't afford to plug the gap in small change.

WOW-That's an amazing find-my Banner vote is in!

Good score on the old copper.

Regards + HH

Bill

For info:

It's Dorchester in Oxfordshire & not Dorset.

It shows his trade with 3 Sugar Loaves & is 1660 (not 66)

As an unpriced token in the book, its states a minimum of £45 for this one.

Only thing I could find around here older than that would be an arrow head? That is sweeeeett!!!d2

Thanks for the additional info. The references I saw listed it as 66..but at this point 1660 or 1666 is still fine with me!!! Haha thanks again.

Really cool find. That camp is giving up some really interesting stuff. From your post, it doesn't say who dug it - you or Russ - it just says "dug in our camp". I would vote banner but need to know who should get the banner.

I dug it. Not Russ. Thanks!!!

Same year as the Great Fire of London!!

WOW! That is an AMAZING find!

Amazing find! I agree with Steve, and I'm ready to push the banner button.

Congratz! That is one hellava find! I'm hoping to find a 1700s coin, but am doubtful. I wouldn't even dream of something from the 1600s! :hello2:
