Yesterday's relics
Went out to some Phoenix vacant lots on Saturday. No really good stuf, but again some interesting relics.
31 pennies - 1 1937 wheat and 1 1952 S wheat
1 dime
1 nickel
The relics:
1 Villard watch face and case - tried to date it but couldn't find much on the internet about Villard. I think it's vintage 1920s
1 'Waldes' zipper pull. Normally I would toss these, but since it was found downtown and had some writing on it I thought I would look it up. I found out Waldes was a Czecoslovakian that was one of the early developers of the zipper. Dates to sometime around 1914 or so.
1 marble
1 cool looking key 'Yale Standard'. No idea on the date of this key.
1 strange looking item marked 'Corona'. While it's metal it feels almost like plastic. I don't know if it's an old beer Corona object although I can't imagine what it would be. Or maybe it's something related to the old Toyota Corona cars in the 1970s. Any idea?
1 square item marked 'M&M'. No idea what that is.
And finally a suspender clip 'Knothe Bros.' Has a patent date of Aug 23 1897 on it.
I take my friend to this one lot I discovered and he finds 4-5 wheats. I find one. I then had to leave for the day and he is able to continue on detecting. He calls me later in the day to tell me that he finds an 1892 Indian Head cent.....sigh.......figures he finds it....
