the gear going in weighs 20lbs and coming out weighs 100lbs....and all the trails are uphill!
the days drag but the years fly....
when talking about something that happened a little while ago and you put it together and realize it was 30+ yrs ago...
you just don't bounce anymore, you plop and you're hop is more like a flop...
you don't get a bump...you bleed...a lot!

any other observations?

you know you're getting old when;
1. those rocks you used to move with one hand now take two and a lot of grunting and groaning.
2. classifying a single bucket to 1/2 inch takes as long as it used to take to do a bucket down to 1/8 inch.
3. you buy a gold wheel because panning hurts to much.
