You're Not Gonna Believe This One...
Hey All,
Well, I was moping around today, and my roomie said, "OK - Let's go treasure hunting..." I perked right up and off we went. We attempted to go over to the coast, but the tide was too high, so I figured I'd head us back to "half-dime park," which is what I've been calling the little park where I found my avatar coin.
After about an hour or so I had found nothing but pennies, pulltabs, and lots and lots of foil. Some kids started showing up for a little league game, so we decided to clear out. Now, mind you, I had been asking the MD Gods to shower me with some favor.... Anyway, I packed up my stuff, kinda disappointed at the lack of interesting finds for the day, and headed across the street to where I left the Jeep.
As it happened, I was doing what I always do when I walk...look down. And what do you think I saw
I was sure when I picked it up it would be some sort of joke bill with a picture of W on it or something, but I couldn't believe my eyes as I discovered it to be the real deal! I turned to Linda with a look of disbelief and showed her what I had just picked up and she about flipped! I still can't believe it. It looked like it sat there all day yesterday through the rain, and had dried out in the sun all day today. I figure it must have been flipped out of someone's pocket at the field and blown across the street where it layed until we came along. There were no other cars around mine, and no one had been there before the folks started showing up for the game. It had clearly been there a little while, too.
Well, just thought I'd share. It sure pays to look down!
Thanks, MD Gods!
