I'm in Kentucky. I found this buckle while digging weeds out of my garden today. I was going to toss it but I decided to clean it up with a toothbrush and water and take a closer look. It has a loop on the left side but none on the right. I can see an eagle grasping three arrows in the...
Found in recycling bin today: Sterling silver belt buckle with Mexican motif and coin or medallion inlay. Stamped 925. Needs cleaning but definitely cool looking. Teotihuacan Mexico

Question... Is that a coin, medallion or just a circular design inlay?
Thx!
Hey Guys, So went out hunting for the first time this year on Sunday 2/28. Finally the ground out here in New Hampshire is finally starting to thaw! I figure I would go out for a quick hunt and see how the conditions turned out. There are two old schools nearby. One, an elementary school...
This artifact was found folded and bent, I slowly, slowly straightened it out, with some success. It is broken in half, so I sketched out what it may have oridinally looked like. LOTS of GOLD wash present, over copper. Very ornate and was found in an area that has yielded a Spanish Half...
Post Civ bridle buckle.
I found this today in southwest Missouri. While researching I find a lot that are otherwise identical except this just has a circle in the middle instead of a heart.
I found this buckle on a 1756 home site. I've heard talk about shield buckles before, but this is my first, assuming that's what it is. Can anyone provide any info on these? When I first saw it, I thought it might have a military connection. The button and crusty Indian head were found on the...
Found these items today in the same general location. I think they are definitely colonial, but leave it to the experts. A Union camp was nearby as was a colonial village.
Thank you in advance!
Here is the link to photos. Both items appear to be iron...

Please Help ID The Age and Type of This Buckle
Found this buckle in my backyard at a good 6 inches deep. I don't think this buckle is too old, but I could be wrong. Please tell me if you know the age, or the type of buckle I have here. Thank you. Sorry about the title, I couldn't change it.
Someone told me what they think it is but I want to see more opinions. The nails also if you want to look and see what they are. The buckle is not that big as you can see by the coins there. The nails are well rusted but the shape is still good. As for the land where they have been found it was...

Hello all,
I went for a quick after work jaunt through our woods in Leesburg, VA and found this about 4-6" deep. It appears to be iron and has a sizeable weight to it...one side of the middle piece is flat, almost as if it sat up against something. I'm thinking it might be some kind of buckle...
I purchased this 14k gold buckle and belt at my local thrift shop. It's stamped and verified by local gold place. I paid 50-cents. Sweet deal. :icon_thumleft:
Hi all I just want to know what this is, it was found this evening on a plowed field and looks copper or bronze. Could it be some sort of buckle etc the only thing is, it has some sort of dip on one side.See for yourself in the photos

I found this shoe buckle metal detecting the other day. It was 10" down and seems to be made of brass. It measures 1 3/4" by 2 3/4 ". I posted pics on another discussion board and they all say it's an authentic Colonial era shoe buckle.
My questions are:
1) Is it really that old?
2) Is it...
