Re: IMPORTANT UPDATE Historical 10/11/06 Hunt!!! In Oct.

Union Army Trenches

The state marker for the trenches is at the boat launch by the highway

bridge crossing the Lamine River East of Otterville which was

once the location of the Union encampment called Camp Curtis

begun in the winter of 1861 and occupied by Union soldiers

until 1865. The gravel road south of the marker (across the Railroad tracks) is called

Game Drive. Dave McKinney's house (649 Game Drive) on the left

has the eastern length of the trench on his property. It

is marked with a flagpole and bronze plaque. His display

of items discovered in the trenches with information is

in a small museum located on the property. He generously offers tours to visitors.

I wish! But dangit, they took the keys away from me after that little uh "fender bender" back in '47 ...
(no, I'm not really that old!)

Really gettin' antsy

Nan

I'm heading out int the AM for the hunt, from Clarksville, TN. I drive a Grey Titan, so if you see me wandering around the interstate looking lost, vector me in.

Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Safe travels, everyone.

Roger

Is anyone staying at the Ramada except me? I will be there about 3:00 Friday afternoon. The BW was full up when I called for reservations and I think most everyone else is over there? Just wondering. Monty

Monty, Hubby and I are at the Ramada. We won't check in until after the Friday night gig, since we're coming from the south end of the world.

Nan, better watch throwing those years and dates around. ;) I was born close to '47! :D
