In the old days, there was nothing that handled like a Triumph. Well, except a Norton!

The Japanese builders just beat the stuffing out of almost everyone!

I can't believe Ducati is still in business! But they STILL have a devoted following.

1.6 litres! Wow! That's big!
Only one I ever had that big was a VW trike... 100mph wheelies, 160mph top... scary!

I just don't like belt drives.
If I can't have a chain, actually shaft is best. There's just no fuss with it.

I was a test rider for the factory before HD released their Sturgis belt drive model, years ago.
Just a job. No glory. Our nut was 300+ miles per 8 hour shift @ $7.50/hr.

They were lumbering beasts.
We had two full boat dressers w saddle bags and windshields, and two Low Riders.
Classic model was good for 85mph, Lowriders good for 107-109mph.
My old dog of a chopper would smoke 'em!

Tell me, does Triumph still run with the Prince of Darkness?

Good to see you bumped Motorcycles back up, TreasureAce!

T.E.A.M. in Tullahoma had introduced a SkyCycle after they had much success with their MiniMax ultralites.
Someone got hurt on their SkyCycle and sued them for bad design. Think it put them out of business.

I know a fellow with a Snowbird gyro.
He made a quick landing and whacked his rotor... $2k to fix.

Now he's near completion of a Zenith.
Look them up... Very nice kitbuilt plane!
NOT inexpensive... $15k for the Rotax engine!

Winter Projects: In front; 1972 Kawasaki H1, 500cc 2-stroke. In back a 1971 HD 1000cc in Corbin-Gentry frame (8' from axle to axle) ... have to get it back looking like it did (in 2nd photo). Also in 2nd photo was my first road bike, a 1965 BSA... I have to admit though that my taste shifted away from choppers years ago.

Yep, FT, the Gix'er is acknowledged to be one of the best.

My kid bought the 600rr honda. best in it's class for a couple years, they say.

Ha! Ha! Within the first 30 minutes he slipped in some sand leaving a stop sign and set it down.
Clipped a mirror off and scratched the case!
No probs since, though.

Elsewhere, someone had claimed the new corvette was the biggest bang you could get for the buck.

Obviously they were NOT a motorcycle rider!

ANY motorcycle is more bang for the buck than an automobile!

Agreed. Tell your kid its ok, the first day I had mine I put the kickstand in some soft sand and it fell over giving my bike a nice scratch. Stupid me lol. Honda's are nice..... lately I have been eyeing the newer Kawasaki Ninja's.

I did that with the first Harley I built...

Six over slugs in the front end tubes and a 21" front wheel, Z bars and a sporty tank...
Blasted over to a house party and up onto the lawn, set the sidestand down and went in for beer...
A while later someone sez, 'Is that your harley laying on the lawn?'

Might have been ok if it was the only time it went down!

No more.
Too old for that stuff!

I wish I could afford an 01 suzuki sv. Not quick as the kid's bike, but that's ok. I like V-twins.
Got a Yammie 750 Seca I'm working on. now. Little at a time...

An H1 - Dude, one of my good mates owned one once.
This is me in circa '74 with my 'Widow Maker' The H2


I also call it the 'Purple People Eater'.
I was back to the shop to buy new indicators within an hour of buying it, because I touched the brake, on some white road paint, in the wet.
I sold it after 6 months. I must admit I did hit my, still highest speed on two wheels, on this bike. 128 mph, 204 kph.
It was effing awesome winding out on a straight line - but I'm not a drag racer, I wanted it to turn corners too.
That's when you discover it's limitations
