It could of been the end of a bird but I would go with bar. There have been at least 4 hardstone bars found up in that area. The finest hardstone bar that I've ever heard of was found near Dallas City in Henderson County which isn't to far from there. I'll try and get some pictures of some bars and post on here soon. I agree it more than likely is the end off of a Bar Amulet, I was just throwing out another possibility.
 

Really cool artifact. Whatever it was it was super fine.

My first thought was you found part of a Banner stone..... It could be a Bar A.... Wow Never mind , its a great find... Crying shame...
