Hi All,

Went out for a short hunt with my kids today. Was using my new T2SE detector which I like a lot. About 15 minutes into the hunt got a decent signal and dug down to dig up the Batmobile, which was a real cool find. It was made by Corgi but don't know the year it was made so if anyone knows that would be cool to hear. Anyways after about a half hour of hunting I got a bouncing signal between 77 up to 95 on the machine. At about 7 inches out came the Half Dollar which was real sweet to find. I told my kids if we don't get anything good for the day, that with that one find we made our day. There was a lot of high fives going on for sure. After that find we dug a few handle parts from old utensils. Just before it was time to go I got a nice 77 signal on the detector. I dug down about 5 inches and out popped the spur which was real cool for sure to find.

After getting home and cleaning up all the finds. I noticed that the Capped Bust is the E over A variety which was cool. Also I noticed that William Eno signed the front of the coin. He was born in 1800 and lived in the house. Probably value wide it hurt the coin, but I think it is really cool that it was signed by an early occupant of the house. Well thanks for reading and looking.

Awesome and OLD 50 cent! Hard to top that...nice spur too! :occasion14:

What character all your finds have. Love the engraving on the half. Super finds!!!

What mode do you use the T2se in?
Stock coil or sniper 4" coil ?

Any T2 pointers ? I've been using one for about 6 months and I like it a lot.

Congratulation on a killer hunt.

I think BANNER is called for here - with no hesitation ! I don't see the signature that you referred to - close up ?

A signed silver coin from the 1800's is awesome.

Wow bubba, that half is so cool. Couldn't imagine finding an oldie like that. Congrats.

I think that coin being signed makes it super cool!

You cleaned house! The spur or the half would make a fantastic hunt but both together is going to make me vote banner.

that 1/2 is banner material for sure.
the bat mobile is cool too.

The half dollar is awesome. What a special piece of history with a name to put to it. I voted banner

Nice coin Bubba!

Wow beautiful capped half those don't pop up often. Or for me at all lol.

Finding a signed coin by the landowner is super! Yeah, not sure what category a signed coin falls into with collectors but that is one nice piece of history, besides being a very early large American silver....

NGC grading service would put this coin into the Graffiti category. . Personally it is so much more interesting with the land owners name!

Here is NGC's grading guideline for a coin like yours:

GRAFFITI describes a coin into which initials or some other writing has been
scratched or carved. This may be narrowed down to read OBV GRAFFITI or
REV GRAFFITI.

I don't know the value of that silver without the signature but I think I would rather have the signed coin...very cool find!

Click on the bust side picture to zoom in...

Thats an awesome half

Bubba65, How did you get access to this property formerly belonging to Mr. Eno ? I too think it's pretty special having a coin that is
connected to a resident/landowner - nearly 200 years ago !

wow look at that big silver sweet ! nice save
