✅ SOLVED Copper or Brass item from Military Site

Sheet brass or copper from a site occupied by military from 1810-1817. I have found several of these. What are they?

They are part of military neck stock buckles from that period and are hard to get items. Way to go!

It was my first thought, although they do remind me of Wrist Clasps but I only know these from the Saxon period, no idea if they had a similar concept in the 18th C.

One question, is if this is the clasp piece how many hasp pieces have they found, should be at least one? (right?)

Yeap, sure.
I'm just interested in why if he has found a few that its only the clasps, that turn up & not the hasps. Because I'm assuming if he found both parts it would be more obvious what the function was??
