Did you dig the token? Or was it somehow involved with the hoard in the reference you cited? Jerry Adams, the author, also wrote an article in Talkin' Tokens in December, 2011 where he showed an inventory of the tokens in the Leonard Brothers hoard. Of the 26, 683 pieces in the hoard (½¢ - 50¢), 20,330 of them were the ½¢ denominations. That makes this one of the very most common trade tokens - but consider how that compares to, say, a 1916-D Mercury dime. There were 264,000 of the dimes made. The laws of supply and demand drive the resulting prices...

Very cool find... Congrats :icon_thumright:

Tokens are fun to find. I've found about 5 this year. Great for display pieces.

I dug it at an old lot I found. It was next to a tree trunk at 7" deep. The link was a reference I found on the net. Planning to return Sunday to hopefully find some silver!

love those tokens congrats

That's a really nice token and an interesting link as well.
