Ahhhh, what a beautiful morning!

My expectations were low since the tide was not great. Worked the edge and was rewarded with a pair of Golden tickets! First find was the 10K Gold wedding band in about shin deep water. Thought that was going to do it till I got a nice signal toward the end of the hunt and out popped a Gold earing with 19 Diamonds!! My new friend Bob was swinging along with me and tried checking it on the AT Pro. Initially he got no signal at all! He played with the settings a bit and had to turn down the discrimination all the way to pick it up. When it finally hit for him it was a steady 43. The other goodies were a CZ stud and a bead that might be gold. It isn't pictured because I've got it on the stove top to remove some crud on it. It read 50 something on the ATP so I am hoping it may be gold. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of my rubbish like I usually do before I throw it into the bucket. It consisted of a half dozen pull tabs and 3 or 4 bottlecaps. Zero clad today! I hunted 3 hours. I'll be back at it in the AM.

Nice pull! :icon_thumright:

What was his disc set at to start with? He had to go to 00 to pick it up?

That's not good if it read a 43 and he couldn't pick it up until 00.

WOW,nice finds.Congratulations on the gold and ice.I have found 2 of the R.M.I. (Romel Manufacturing,Inc.) 10K rings this year. It's always great to find gold.It is getting harder to find this time of year.

Great hunting, Aaron!

That earring is beautiful!

Thanks everyone!!

Sean,
I am pretty sure to begin with he had it set on auto with 2 notches knocked out on the far left of the discrimination bar at the top of the screen. I am just going by what I saw while he was playing around with it. When he had it set up like that it didn't pick it up at all(and it was laying on the surface). After he went back to turning the 2 bars on the far left back on, it picked it up. Not sure if that makes any sense or not. If any of you ATP users have a good beach setting let me know so I can tell him tomorrow! He was pretty upset when it din't register at all initially.

that is a good hunt in my book! congrats

Maybe it is gold, as when you discriminate, the first thing you loose is gold jewelry.

I run my ATP in standard mode, zero, no discrimination. The first two bars he had notched out takes out numbers 40 to 50. Small gold comes up in that range, studs, hoops, some small rings, I found a 5 gram 14k cross that read 44. His machine will ground balance around 14 in the wet sand. I drop mine down about 2 numbers below what it balances at in auto ground balance. He should be able to run 5 bars of sensitivity with almost no falsing and dig coins and rings at 8 to 9 inches in the wet sand, I do, and I hunt the same beaches that you hunt. Hope this helps. You get Bob set up right and he is going to get some of your tickets. :laughing7: I think its great that your trying to help him with his machine. Hope you both dig some more gold, good luck. :icon_thumleft: :icon_pirat: :icon_thumright:

Nicely done!!

All the best,

Lanny
