Hunting buddy found a really pretty Borman-fused ball. When he cleaned it up, it was punched TWICE. Wonder what the story there is? Mistake in the heat of battle? Or was the enemy advancing rapidly?

What does it mean when you say it is "punched twice"? No Civil War stuff to be found around here so I'm clueless. Gary

Two fuse holes. These balls are hollow, powder in the center, a Bormann fuse is screwed in the hole to detonate it.

Google: Bormann fuse and you will see what I mean.
