So today I went to this new permission. 1750 FARM. Was not sure how it was going to be but was hopeful it was going to be productive. .And it was!!!! It started a little slow until the home owner showed me a pic of the house from 1850 that showed the family sitting on the porch and on the right hand side of the house there was a clothes line hanging there with cloths on it...Sooo thats were I headed...Let me tell you I only did a 30ft.by 30ft area and it was a colonial kind of day...It started with a 1749 king george half penny then 1753 half penny the 3rd coin not to sure?? I believe its a 1600s farthing. .any help would be great..Then I found a political token..As u can see it says on one side FOR President in 1876 and on the reverse it says FOR VICE president 1876..Pretty cool...and last In the same hole a 1800 and a 1803 half cents...I love draped bust...lol...Look forward to going back I have about 4 more acres to do...The said news is I promised the owner I would give him everything he wanted...and guess what?? He wanted everything. ..Oh well...I had fun..And I got some pics...Thanks for looking. .
GEORGE. ..

Congrats on some awesome great condition coppers. Two half cents in the same hole? I need a hunt like that. I'm envious! :happysmiley:

I was thinking that..the reverse is smooth...the diameter is a little bigger then a half cent..about the size a farthing. And the token is my favorite! !!!

Then it's a 1694 British William and Mary Farthing, because there was no Irish Farthings.

Yeah, I don't know how to dig one of those! Dug older, dug rarer, dug close, but never a W & M.

I can't imagine giving up those finds. Way to represent us diggers, though!

Great finds . I must admit I would not bother if I knew the owner would be that greedy. You are a better man than I . If it were me I would move on to "greener pastures". You will hopefully earn a free pass to metal detecting heaven.

Killer finds vino! Bummer u had to give em all up, please believe at least one of those keepers would've went in my other pocket, shoe, or underwear lol, go searching for that!

Thanks everyone!!! I would of like to have them but at least there saved and I got the pictures. .hh

Wonderful finds! :headbang: Including the ornate spoon! :blob9: I'm glad you got good pics & hope you get a share of future digs there. Andi

those are some outstanding finds. the campaign token could be pretty rare. I can't find any examples of it on the net. as much fun as it was to hunt that place, I think if the owner wanted everything, then I wouldn't return. He could go buy his own detector and batteries and do his own digging. but that's just me.

I looked also for the token but could not find it...as far as going back? I will its just not 1st on my list...all the other houses and farms around there were built in the 1700s also so im going to see if the owner could talk to his neighbors. ...Thanks for trying to look up the token for me....
Vino..
