1715 Homestead - Part 9 1650's French Liard, scabbard mount and other relics!

I put together a video of my latest visit to my 1715 permission, unbelievably, even after 8 visits pounding this 5 acre site it is still producing some amazing relics. I did not know it during the hunt, but I ended up finding my second oldest coin, a French Liard, Crowned Bust variety which dates from 1655-1658!! It always blows me away when 1600's items are recovered in the United States! Wow!!

Thank you T-Net member Iron Patch for assisting with the ID on the coin!

Another first which I have always wanted to find was a part to a sword scabbard.

Here is a video of my adventure, I will post pics below as well.

Here are links to my first 8 visits. Enjoy the pics

Great hunting grounds and finds ! Your 1715 settler turf will keep you busy for many years to come . 8 visits is nuthin' .... many more early buttons and the gold gilt cuff link is a sign of more choice finds hiding out there .

To completely cover 5 acres of land with a coil will be taking a very loooooooooooooong time. Grats on having a place to go and some great finds!

BTW I have and still use a kelvinator fridge. It came witht my house...purchased in 1994. It works great but is looking pretty bad. My guess is it was made in the 70's. Try getting a new fridge to last that long...

Congrats on all the finds, and it's amazing you were able to get an ID on the French Liard!

Great stuff and just lovely documentation. That's the second 17th century liard up in the last couple of weeks, though yours is earlier. What fun you've had..

Not really Dad & I would cover 5 acres in 2 days, so 4 man days or 28 hours, not that long really.
