I was thinking this might be one of the last times I get out, with the holidays coming and weather.
So i wanted to make it a good one, and it was.. I toke Ahab8,s advice and did the whole 8 thing on my way to hunt..
I put $50.08 in gas in my truck, I listened to station 98fm on the way and i didnt get out of my truck untill 9:08...lol.You should try it IP..
It was a fun day..First coin was the KG111. I text Abe..2nd coin was 1852 LC text Abe..Then in the same hole 1868 2center..Text abe..lol..After that he told me were to go..Then i found the knee buckle..Then My favorite find..The little radiant eagle gaming token..It has a 250 on the back. Thats what it was worth.
I found one about a year ago in the same spot..Much bigger and it had a $100 on the back..Ill add it to the photo's..
Then about 20min later i pulled the 1736 farthing...I really like them coins..It my 5th one...I was just about to call it quits when i got a choppy high tone so i remove a few inches of dirt and the signal disappeared..I was like no way, so dug some more then when down with my pin pointer..About another 3inches i pulled out a big nail then the 1800 Draped bust..
All my signals today were crappy..
But the deus i really had dialed in...
Ever coin has rust stains on them..
Wow....
I also found 2 eagle buttons..
The one is a 3piece..I believe there are not common???
Enjoy the pics..And thank Abe...
I sooo needed your help...lol
George..Ps..Also found a flower stamp..

Well I'm damn glad you're a better treasure hunter than photographer lol. Cause you really suck at taking pictures. Just kidding buddy. I'm just bitter and jealous that I have you all my mojo today :-). You killed it today and doing it in the trash like that makes it much more impressive. I think you're getting this detecting thing down lol

Yet another killer hunt! Quality finds all the way! I'm not sure if you already do or not, but you should video your hunts. They would be incredible to watch!

Hell George! Just to see coins and relics that come out of the ground I'll film and dig your plugs for you. It would seem to me that you had an exceptionally good hunt. The coins and buttons are gorgeous. The buckle is in really good shape and I'm guessing is quite old. I'll cross 8 of my fingers and toes hoping your weather stays nice for you for a while longer.

Giving it some thought how about I do the filming and we allow Abe the pleasure of digging your amazing finds for you?

Looks like you had yourself a nice hunt. The copper cleaned up quite well. I took a close look at the 1774 to see if it was a Machin's Mills piece as they are known with that date. Easy way to tell is the Machin's pieces don't have the outlines to the cross in the shield like your piece does. Nice finds!

Actually you might be surprised that perhaps 50% of the KGIII's found are counterfeits made in England, especially those dated 1775.

Daggone Vino! You must have some of the best sites in the world!! I'm in the State just below you, invite me to come hunt with you, or you can come down here and bring your gift to my sites.. either way.. lol
Great finds again.. One, would have been just fantastic, nice handful. Is there a lot of sites near you with that kind of history, or are your choices limited? Do you hunt old abandoned props. or inhabited yards? Most of mine right now are in town, so everyone has been real kind about letting me dig up their lawns! (I have plenty of disappeared sites back in the woods, but diggin roots is hard on my arthritus. WTG! great to see your finds, as always.

doninbrewster;
When I found my only KG III this summer, I researched them. You are right. Mine could very well be (1775) . As I understand it, they didn't make any for a long time after he took the throne because they already had a glut of KG II's and all their counterfiets. That and the fact that when they had them, they didn't send many to the colonies because we were'nt being very friendly at the time. So, I was surprised to find mine. But a counterfeit of the period is just as valuable and interesting as the real thing, so hey.. KG III is neat anyway. Love to find more.. lol It's an unusual and great find vino.
