Little afternoon hunt to old faithful, This place has never let me down!!
I have had about 5 different guys from T,net come with me to this place over the last year, and it keeps putting out..
Not the kind of place you just walk and swing, it takes alot of patience, and listening, just wiggle the coil there is so much iron. .
Not the kind of place for a newbie. Lol.
There has been about 30coppers, lots of silver, from my cut 4reale ,capped bust silver, seated, and old dudes 1804 shilling come out of a 30 by 100 foot area amazing. .There is still ton of targets there..
Anyway just wanted to put that out there, a great spot is never hunted out, just need patients. .lol.
Well enjoy the picks..
Ps dont know what they were trying to do to that poor old jersey copper ??
I can just make out the shield on it.
( sorry Don..lol.)
George

You're fortunate to have such a great site that's been so productive and has lots left to dig!

It looks like you found a railroad switch lock key (1st pic) any markings on it to the railroad it belonged to?

Ok then, I'll beat him up on the finds because that halfpenny is not 1751! :) (maybe 1731)

AND my shilling is an 1816...I wish it was an 1804. At least you were right this time calling it a shilling lol. You're getting better George. I believe Scrappy got something good there recently too, didn't he? Nice hunt!

Ok ok, you were right again. .
Its 31. Lol.
Just took it out of some oil.
And they didn't make KG11s in 51..
I thought they were made til 54 but the head style changed around 40. But I'm napping so I could be wrong :tongue3:

My mother and Gf claim I was born with none of that stuff. Who needs common sense when you can have gr8 treasure sense

That place is so much smaller than what I am used to hunting. It is hard to believe the amount people have found there. Can you imagine what is UNDER the fill dirt??? There are probably unimaginable amounts.

I looked IH, does not have any writing on it..
That for the info..
Oh by the way, how do you deal with that guy IP???
He must keep you laughing all day??

The only gr8 you ever had was this slide as a kid, and it tore up your a$$ just as bad as I will kick it in our detecting showdown this year! :headbang:

Well now I'm convinced....that place is magic. I must also say you're so one of the most patient detectorists I've ever seen. Very methodical. Your finds are in large part because of your skill.

Where did you find them within the spot? Just don't tell me you found them where I got my 2nd KG3!

That's it you pompous ass! I'm taking 8 months off and detecting every day. No way some dude in a unitard is gonna beat me....not happening! You better book a trip to Europe. That's the only chance you got. Don't be trying to hide your lil pin pointer in that spandex suit going thru the airport....

Dagnabbit!

Anyway, I also meant to congratulate you on those finds. How old is that seal?

Deal with him ....just get better targets, sometimes keeps him a little quieter lol
Laughing all day, although we take our detecting very seriously, we also have some laughs together, usually at others expense and because of their ineptness

If you can't have a little fun detecting what's the point really , it all can't be holes in the ground
