Didn't get a chance to get out yesterday when the weather was so nice, so I made plans to go out today, had a few things to do around the house in the morning, then go TH'ing. Then the wife informs me that we have to go to our Grandsons deck hockey game at 4, so that cut my time way down, so out to the front yard which has been very productive in the past, our land has been used from around 1740, after about an hour of nothing I decided to try the woods, and an overgrown field next to the house. Another hour of nothing and time was getting short, so I tried one more spot in the field and asked the TH'ing Gods for something, please, I got a good solid signal of quarter and half dollar at 7 inches, cut my plug and out popped this beauty :o :o. I couldn't believe it, I was shaking, I have seen them but never found one. I tried hunting some more but couldn't concentrate, so off I went to clean my trophy and show the wife, and then post it for everybody to enjoy, gotta love this hobby, thanks for looking Dean

Thanks to everybody for all the responses :hello2: glad I could add a great find for everybody to enjoy thanks again. Dean

WOW...that has to be one of the best I've ever seen to come out of the ground. That is a find of a lifetime! Unless, of course, you should happen to find 10 more :laughing7:

Very very nice! I agree with the rest of the posts - one of the nicest I've seen for quite a while. I was fortunate enough to find a 1748 2 Reales, but the date is about all I could read on the coin, and that just barely. It was probably lost after being in circulation for 100 years :P Not like your beauty though!

Wow that is one nice coin congrats!

Congrats on finding that nice piece.
I like it! :)

Wow!!!!!
This coin belongs on the BANNER!!!!!!!!!!!
You got my vote, way to go boondocker. :notworthy:

That is one of the nicest pieces of Spanish Silver I have ever seen dug. You sure you didn't get that from a Heritage Coin Auction??? (Just joking).

Very nice!!!!!

BANNER .....BANNER......BANNER !!!! a unique 2 Reale carolus III :o :o :o

I vote banner ... a little late but .... if you can see the teeth of the Lion on his shield!

thanks again for all the votes for the banner, was hoping for a shot, I cant wait to show this off at my next club meeting, still looking ;D Dean

233 years ago, someone dropped that beauty. That is one of the nicer Spanish silver coins I've seen posted in a long while. Beautiful.

That is one beautiful coin! My half reale was so worn that I had to really check it closely to get any date or detail; you obviously didn't have that problem! Spectacular!

Great Find!!!!!

I think it's going to be very hard for me to top this find, but I'll try. thanks for all the great comments, happy hunting.

Trying & trying is what brings you closer to topping it & you will. However, for now its a great reminder of what this is all about :o

Wow! Whats something like that worth?
