Went out on Saturday looking for a new spot....Turns out the roads going to spot was closed...So we decided to hike in...After an hour of hiking in we found out Fog left his battery in the car :tongue3: ...So we headed back to get his battery...Worked out great because we found another way in.. It was wayyyyyy shorter.. Started swinging my way up the hill trying to locate the site, I got a nice signal...My very first Dig was a 1786 New Jersey copper...Its a Maris 23-p Common varity...Condition looked great in the field so I knew it was going to clean up great.. After a little while I found a 1734 George 2....Then on sunday we decided to hit a spot we have been to before...I hunted for a few hours and Found a 1789 1/2 real...It is in poor condition but its Spanish silver  One of the Georges is still soaking...Thanks for looking Brian W

Bri that thing cleaned up unreal... we knew when it came out of the ground it was gonna be a blazer, but that is just sick, it rivals the condition of that Draped Bust you found a few years back.
Ya the draped bust is a nice coin and cleaned up great too...its funny how some coins hold up..and dig same coin 20 feet away and its toasty.

Jesus, that has some meat on the bone! Great hunt, brother. Wicked stuff.

I agree with what everyone else has been saying, the condition of that NJ copper is amazing. Please share with us how you cleaned it. Kind of interesting that you find a decent 1/2 real and all the comments are on the copper. Nice half real and it would in itself make a good day metal detecting for anyone.

Fantastic condition on the NJ that's for sure, I could only wish ours would come out of the ground looking like that. Absolutly beautiful.
The rest is not too shabby either, congrats on a stellar hunt. I am sure you will be back there again soon and hopefully you will have some more beauties to show us.

That is what a lost for centuries, copper looks like in a perfect world but ...sigh , that is not the case for most .

Nicest condition Jersey Copper of 2013 :hello2:

Wow! Is the calendar wrong? This must be the year 1786 becasue that NJ coin must have been lost yesterday. Very, very nice!

Just a late follow up, you never shared with us how you cleaned the NJ. Would love to hear and I'm sure others would also.

Wow! That NJ is in pristine condion for a dug copper! Congrats on the KGs and the Spanish too.

Heck yeah it is. You don't see many coppers come out of the ground and look like copper.
