1800s Schoolhouse Sites first Indian head and first Barber!!!!

1800's Schoolhouse Site's first Indian head and first Barber!!!!

My first Indian Head and first Barber within an hour!! After two visits and around six hours of digging neat old relics at this one room schoolhouse site i finally found where the kids might have took their recess. Within an hour i dug FIVE Indian heads and a Barber dime!!
These pics are just the way they came up with no water cleaning just a little toothpic work to see the dates. I will post a pic after a peroxide bath tomorrow,
Jerry

WTG Jerry those are the kinda days that makes it all worth while. I found an 1899 barber the other day that was in very good condition but I believe yours is better. Heres the link to mine.

Jerry,

That is one fine Barber. I found an 1899 last week also. Yours is much, much better. I would caution a little on peroxide and Indians. It takes away that awesome green patina, but they do clean up nice. Which part of Ohio are you in? I am in Cincinnati, and always looking for someone to walk with.

What a day!! I'm researching 6 old schoolhouses, and your post reinforces that mission.

That is the best-looking Barber dime I *ever* saw come out of the ground--and I got a pretty nice one last year.

Great bunch of Indians, too! It took me 2 years to dig 5 of them. I'm particularly curious about the dates on the 2 that end in '6' and '7'.

WTG!
