Very warm and sunny day Sunday, so decided to go to the foundation thats produced coins from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries already. I had been there many times before without coins, but decided to give it a try with my Etrac. Got only a few things including a .38 calibur bullet, and a gear of sorts. I was there an hour or so, then I got a nice repeating signal, jumping 13-38 to 14-40. I started digging and after four shovel fulls of dirt, I see the rim of a silver coin. I knew it was a dime right away. Picked it up and wipe off the dirt and see the eagle. I flipped it over and clearly see 1814 with full Liberty. I can't capture the toning with the camera, but it has great patina and has purpleish toning. One of my best finds in a while. There is a good ding in it, I assume its from a lawnmower. In the third pic you can see parallel scratches, does anyone know what might have caused these?

. I was thinking the scratches was from stress from field use over the years, being it was from a field with crops in it each year and the 1837 was found in my yard and the house dates to 1820's.
