1830's One-Piece Eagle "R" Button from the 1749 Farthing Site

We got out yesterday to a new site, but we got skunked, so we headed back to the site that has produced every outing that we were there. This site was where Chris dug his killer 1749 farthing.

Well, needless to say, I wasn't swinging long before I got a nice penny reading at three inches deep. I saw this in the plug and instantly thought, "One-Piece Military?" We rarely ever dig early military buttons on our sites, so I wasn't getting my hopes up high. However, when I started field cleaning it, I noticed an eagle on it. That is when I blurted out what I found to Kirk and Chris.

Here it is cleaned up! It is my first early military button (Pre-Civil War). The backmark reads: "Superior Quality WHH & Co."

Someone forgot to take his meds.. ::)

Kirk said I should have replied sooner.... back when I only seen the back of the button. :icon_scratch:

But even the back of a button is better than what Kirk gets!

Very nice Kyle, don't see many of those posted. Glad you finally broke the ice on the early military buttons, you were due!

in no way was I implying this isn't a worthy find, quite the opposite, that Tnet is producing some quality buttons recently.

I have collected coins since a young boy but have no favourites over relics/buttons.
