Thanks Gare. A lot of luck and opportunity this time of year. I am on good terms with several farmers in the area. The lands they farm are the locations of old farmsteads , long gone, from the early 1800s. I have made it a point to give them some of my best finds after taking a pic of the finds. Since the fields were just plowed and tilled there is less iron masking at some sites and more targets available. Not near as many as 10 years ago when I first started hunting the old farmstead sites but still a thrill to find an old coin.

Congrats on the fabulous looking 50 cent piece. It must not have been in circulation all that long before being dropped.
Then again maybe the plow just moved it up, and its family is still resting deeper down yet.
It certainly will create a memory for a few full moons.

incredible detail. Very nice!

HOLY SMOKES Merf!!!! What a beauty.
An employee of the mint must have dropped that one on their way home. Lol. Amazing condition and very old too.
You never let us down.
Congrats!!!

To find a coin of that age, size, denomination and condition is rare! Congratulations!

Thanks, Pepper, it was at a site I had hunted several times over a period of about 10 years. Every spring after the farmer plows the field I usually find a couple of new targets. This was a shock ,found 2 inches deep at the top of the soil that was turned up by the plow.

Very nice!

Wow, it's in amazing condition!! Congrats to you!!
