This is my best find for today.. an 1850 Large Cent medallion. Should I clean it or leave it "as is" .. that is the decision I am grappling with.

What a neat find. I'd leave it as is.

oops .. I just noticed the title says 1860 .. I have fat fingers!

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

That is awesome!

That's an awesome find! My 2 cents- I'd leave it.

It's not a rare coin, and not valuable in that condition, so, if it were me, I'd treat it like jewelry. I'd clean it, buff it and wear it! :icon_thumleft:

Clean one side and leave the other!:laughing7:

Leave it and love it. You will lose so much detail and charactor otherwise.

if you do - just lightly - dont want it shiney - but be nice to see a little better

Really neat! If it can be cleaned to bring out more detail I would do that. But, it is yours to do as you please.

Yup .. My fat fingers apparently double keyed the 5 and the 6 .. the 6 won and I failed to notice until it was too late.
My kids always told me that I have spatulas instead of fingers. :laughing7:
