1912 S WHEAT PENNY!!and my first mercury dime

its a 1912 s wheat and i took it to a coin shop and showed to them and they said its worth 15 dollars i think i will keep it cuz its my first wheatie i also found a 1942 mercury dime.. :thumbsup:

im only 13 so i have to beg some people to take me hahaha

Most dug coins will fall into the G range or good...the redbook says it is worth 12.00 bucks..so I don't think the guy lied to you....seems like a fair assessment. A few years ago I found a 1912-S and got 37 bucks for it on Ebay, coin was in great condition with a beautiful green patina!! Still a nice findand congrats on a semi-key date!!

One thing I have noticed on coin values...They are always worth what an person is willing to pay for them...U did "gud" with yours. :thumbsup:

I did a google search for coin values and the second one one the list is Price Guide-PCGS and their info
shows an auction awhile back where the 1912-s wheatie went for almost 2K.

Great finds bud! The great thing bout this hobby is that now you got 2 nice coins to either keep or sell! I always hang on to mine till I decide I need something very important like a new metal detector! lol Keep up the good work.

Did you find it with a metal detector? You did not really explain. Anyways great finding a 1912S Wheatie and some silver! :thumbsup:

I am using my Minelab Explorer SE and still learning. Have not even hit a wheatie yet or silver. But I am still trying everytime I get the chance to hunt. Keep up the hunting! Red Book 2008 says its worth $12 in G-4. Condition! :thumbsup:
