Ok, so I got back to Grandma's, helped My Sweet Wife decorate cake balls, then went out for an hour in Grandma's yard that We've hit so hard!!!! With the 10x5" Coiltek Coil on , I was able to pull two Wheats and one old Big Smith button out of the yard. They were all within an inch, if not touching each other. A lot of swinging for two Wheats, but when I cleaned them off inside!!!!
I got a 1914D Wheat!, 1920 Wheat, and the Big Smith Button.
What away to start Christmas 😁🎄
Thanks for looking and

Thats a great find. After 12 years in the hobby, last year year I dug a 1914D penny along a sidewalk entrance to an old school built in 1905. What a thrill, will never sell it. Great post !

Thanks Diggitdaddy!! Congrats on Yours as well!!! Mine will not sell as long as I'm alive and able either😁

That's a hard one to find! Congrats! I wish I'd known they were banner worthy. I've found two. One in Nebraska and one in Montana. Still looking for that 1909S VDB. That's the last one to compete my set.

How Interesting. I found a 1914 wheat at a fair grounds here on the Canadian prairies. I'll have to see if it has a D stamp. I'm guessing that there are variations ?

No major ones that I'm aware of. There are plenty of altered coins and counterfeit ones though.

The Denver mint produced a small number of cents in 1914 and the Philly mint produced a ton of them. The 14D is a key date. The 14 plain is not.
