1919 Class Ring. My "BEST" find from this site.Got a name Tracking for Relatives

I have been hunting this small park for many years. It was once an old school from ( appox ) 1902-1963.

It has yielded many older coins many years ago ( 1986-1990 )

I go there once in a while and every time I get a new machine.

Today I took the etrac there for the 3rd time.

Found a 1910 wheatie in an area that was hit hard in the past.

I decided to try a small area that I had never swung a coil in and within 5 minutes I got a 1935 Wheatie and the soil was nice and black....Virgin ground I thought...

5 feet away I got a real nice solid 12-47 all the way around.... and at least 1/2 way down the gage...Hmmmm I thought,
SILVER QUARTER for sure....depth was at least 6-8 inches..

Dug my plug so I wouldn't scratch it... Pulled some dirt out, probed it, I found the target was still down there...
dug a bit out and in one clump of dirt I saw the band of the ring....

Cleaned some dirt off and was greeted with a 1919 Maine H S Class Ring....
Pretty sure it's a girls ring. It doesn't even fit on my pinky.

Now that's a nice old high school ring. There might be a chance of finding out the name of the person who owned it.

Definitely in the "Find of a lifetime" category in my opinion!

Amazing that ring was still there. I went to school across the street & remember that big old school where the big kids went (by then a junior high). I remember when it was torn down, too. The park district built an ice rink on that site & I used to skate there as a kid. Thanks for the old pic of the school.

I know you're trying to find the owner's kin. That will be one cool return if you are successful!

I think it's a banner find! Hey it's no railroad lock, but what the heck!

Beats my class ring by 3 years. I found a 1922 Gold Class ring. Very Nice find. Might be the oldest class ring I have seen on here.

That E-trac is gonna get you some good stuff. I'm reluctant to say, the owner of that ring, probably isn't with us anymore. But the research could be fun. Good luck!

I have a name to go with the ring... Looked at a 1919 yearbook.
Tracked down that he passed in 1991.
Got married in 1931.
Born in Michigan ,Lived in Maine Township IL, Married in cook county, lived and passed away in Michigan
I need to get a look at the 1940 Census to find if he had children.
Got his birth, school, work, and death info.
The key info I'm still missing.
