1921 PROOF "ZERBE" MORGAN Only 250 made! UPDATE: SENT TO ANACS

Found this 1921 proof or proof like morgan dollar today for 15 bucks. Coin dealer says it is uncleaned and unpolished and does certainly have the proof luster. I agree.

Thanks for the link. It is actually a "Zerb" proof. A circulation strike made specially to look proof-like. Several hundred issued, although exact amount not known. It should look "some what like a proof". Worth about 2 grand in PF60.

The Pics do not do it justice. I compared it to an MS-65 morgan dollar I have and it is clearly a proof. I asked everyone in my family to tell me which one was more proof like (they know very little about coins, except for the superb quality and mirror of a proof), they all pointed to the 1921 as a proof. I will try to get it graded at ANACS one day, anyone ever certified coins with them before? How was your experience? Thanks for looking!!!

Just sent the coin to ANACS today... my coin dealer said it is deffinately worth sending it in, he think there is a chance it is a proof!

You might get $20.00 dollars on ebay. It is very nice, I like it.

Re: Oh My God. 1921 PROOF MORGAN!???

Ok, I am going to ask everyone to disregard the pics for now until I get the camera fixed.

After loup magnification and looking at the coin in different lights, I have determined that is IS in fact a 1921 Proof Morgan dollar.

Anyone know how much this is worth? PF63 Not listed in red book.

THANKS!

It just looks uncirc. to me. That year was an incredibly common date.

I don't think you got hurt any for only $15 bucks, that's for sure...
Good luck, & Happy hunting~

Re: Oh My God. 1921 PROOF MORGAN!???

It is a "Zerb" proof. Meaning half proof/half uncirculated. I will try to get it certified.

Re: 1921 PROOF "ZERB" MORGAN Only 250 made!

I'd get it graded, then show a pic in the slab, it'll either prove everyone right, or prove 'em wrong, either way, I would definately pay $15 for a morgan in MS condition, nice find.

Nice coin, but, I'm sure it's only worth what you bought it for, or a little less.

Think about it.

If you were a coin dealer and had a coin worth a hundred bucks, would you sell it for 15.00?

I don't think so. A regular bulk silver round or 1 oz bars are going for around $12 to $15
so getting a coin like this would definitely make it worth more being an older US currency
in proof or near proof condition. As in an above post, I would get it slabbed, and then you'll
know exactly what it is.
Nice find though!!!
