Looks like damage to me, not doubling.

It appears to me to be Post-mint damage, could of gotten caught in a coin counting machine or some other spinning machinery...really hard to say what damaged it.

Is it possible to take a straight on picture in better light?

Double a quarter!

That's just damage, quite likely from a coin roll crimper. The coin on the end of a roll often gets this kind of damage, known as the "ring of death" to coin collectors.

Sadly , Even if it is Doubling , You would Need to Find another in Mint/Near Mint Condition Of the Same date labeled as Doubling, To Prove it's not Damage !
All the Same a 50 Cent find , even if it is Kennedy :tongue3: is still 50 Cents :coffee2:

Until they get renamed :)

The Kennedy series had a bunch of minor hub doubling examples, right? But not rare because they were passed along wholesale to the subsequent dies. They are considered variants ( IIRC - somebody jump in and fix that )

It looks like a coin that was pressed when the rim collar was not in place. That would cause the high rim. Check to see if the edge is reeded.

Nice find 111
