Went back out to my honey hole today & got myself my very 1st Fugio as my 1st target of the day (need help on variety).

Also got my 1st NJ this year (need help on variety), last one was on my last hunt of 2012.

Also got what looks to be a KG? Also need help on this one folks!

Found 2 more matching buttons.

Hope everyone had a chance to get out!

HH!
Roger

nice finds congrats HH

Wow what a hunt!. Would like to find myself a fugio. I'm also a fan of NJ coppers. wish I could ID it for you but can't ID my own. Congrats

In 2001 I found my first and only Fugio. I prize it as one of my best finds ever. It is still the oldest coin I have ever found, 1787. Congratulations on a fantastic find!

Looks like your halfpenny is a William and Mary. Great coin day with those three.

A quick look at the NJ and looks like it is 1787 Maris 43-d Very Common variety, that is my most common one I have found (5 ea of that variety) My Avatar is a Maris 43-d....
You had a great hunt for variety on colonial coppers!
Agree with IP on it looking like a W&M Halfpenny, which would make it your oldest copper found to date! :)

Ooops, it is not a Maris 43-d variety , it is a Maris 44-d variety which is not one of the common varieties so I like it when I misattribute in the direction. :) The 43 and 44 Obverses are very similar and on a corroded ground found the details needed sometimes just do not stand out and one must assume the more common variety but it was pointed out to me by another NJ knowledgeable individual that it was a 44 and not a 43.

Thanks IP & Don. I appreciate all your help!

IP, while there is not much to ID is it possible it's a KG? Not that I doubt you, it's just that I'd be floored to have found a W&M. This site has really produced some spectacular 1st in coins for me.

No doubt it is at least a William III Halfpenny, but it does appear to be the double bust which would most likely be a 1694 William & Mary Halfpenny. The ribbons are the tell all for it being a William III copper of some type.

One helluva hunt Reb! Very impressive--congrats!!

Great find! I hope I'm lucky enough to find one someday.. In Canada.. I might be waiting a while.

Rebel, those are some AWESOME COINS Congrats are in order

It is quite common to find a William III type Halfpenny at sites that produce coins like the Fugio and NJ coppers. The William III coppers stayed in circulation for a very long time and most found are worn almost smooth, especially the Reverse and a lot of times the only details left on the Bust side are the ribbons (last to wear off) and usually left side of the bust and some partial letters on left side, they just seemed to have that type of wear pattern for up to 90 years give or take a decade of circulation in North America.

Way to go Rebel ! Any one of those coppers would have been a nice hunt! Fugio is in good shape ! Congrats on some nice digs!

Very nice score on some pretty cool coppers. The fancy colonial button is also a very nice find.

Thanks! That's the 2nd one I've found at this site. I love the designed ones.

Great hunt that you had digging all the coppers.

So far this site has produced: 9 Colonial Coppers; 1 Spanish Cobb & 25 Buttons. As well as some additional relics.
