nice semi-key date there, filo.
there were fewer 1871 2 centers minted than 1877 indian heads,
but that doesn't translate into money, unfortunately.
the next 2 center you'll dig will be a '64,
and then you'll be well on your way to having a complete dug 2 cent collection.
keep at it!

Very Nice Condition Dig !

Congrats filo !

Wow! I didn't know so few were minted. I noticed it was slightly higher value than most in the series but I didn't know it was a lower mintage than the 1877. I can't believe that doesn't translate to value but I suppose it's somewhat of an oddity in US coinage.

Thanks for info and all the kind words everyone!

Nice find. :icon_thumright: Usually the 2-centers found are 1864 and 1865.

Cool. Congrats.

nice oldie :icon_thumleft: MR TUFF

Very nice shape indeed. The 2 center. That coin needs NO cleaning.

Great find! :icon_thumright: One elusive coin I have'nt bagged yet. :(

Great looking 2 center :icon_thumleft: that patina is fantastic never clean that one Good find  Dd60

I'm wondering why this isn't a candidate for the banner?

Wow, wow, wow. I love those two centers. That thing is beautiful. Congrats. That park has some serious potential if that beauty was hiding there.
