Yesterday, I hunted an old camp grounds that I had previously hunted. I remembered finding some old silver pieces in there a long time ago. Well, a couple of guys from Jersey told me I should hunt it again as there might be more in there. They had found some good stuff in there recently.
The area is almost totally overgrown now, but there are some bicycle trails carved out in there and some flat areas that have been trampled down by deer. I wondered around in there for a couple hours before I found anything good. The first good find was a Barber dime which was about six inches below a deer path. Then I found a old set of keys, a couple of broken sunglasses and a plastic whistle, which I eyeballed. Then I hunted one of the trampled down areas where deer had been sacking out. There where many thorn stalks and mashed down vines and bushes. I did get scratched up a bit. But, I did find a shallow glory hole with multiple silvers in it. There was a silver Washington quarter and 2 Mercury dimes in that hole. Then I found another shallow hole with multiple conis in it. There were 5 wheat pennies, 2 buffalo nickels and a 1918 Standing Liberty quarter. Judging from the wheaties, these coins were dropped sometime in the late 40's or early 50's.
Here's the first little glory hole:

Thanks for looking.
