Wow, what alot of fun fun today.
This is what it must of been like back in the 70s? Lol.
Now to the story. I decided to hit this old mill, when I got there I realized I didn't have my pouch with my pinpionter or my digger. So I figured I was only going to dig the high tones.
I did have my shovel though.
Let me tell you its hard work without a pinpointer. Lol
Anyway by 12pm I had 12 silvers and the KG. Went to get something to eat and drink, oh I used the deus in the morning. Then after lunch went back with the CTX and dug another 11silvers. I had a blast!!
Cant wait to hit by the water and in the overgrowth in the fall.
Hopefully thats were the old stuff is.
Thats for looking, and enjoy the pics.
George

Dang, that's sweet !

Way to go George...especially without a pin pointer. You are certainly more patient than I would have been. Can't beat the lethal combination of the Deus and CTX!

Thanks jon,
It was time consuming with out pinpionter. Lol
Yes them 2 detectors are lethal..

Wow George... Totally sick hunt man! 23... I wasn't expecting a number that large. I like the token with the gilt. Looking forward to seeing what else comes out of the ground there.

Nah, I'm happy for him, jealous as all bloody hell but happy lol. All I'm trying to do anymore is beat last year's total of 63, I got 14 to go to do that

Yeah, I know you're happy for him...I'm just bustin' chops. Your first response was hilarious was all. Lol.

I don't keep an exact count, but my best estimate, George found about 15% of my years silver. That *******...lol

Hey bud that's great....you found your coffee money for tomorrow lol

Just think, that will only buy me one cup of Starbucks. Lol

I don't think I've seen a land hunt of 23 silver coins before--must be some sort of record! I'm really loving the William Penn One Penny token. Is there a date on it?? Congrats on a very fine job!!

Thats Erik, that token is my favorite out of the hunt!!! No date but I found a crap load on ebay for sale.
Not sure when they were made either. I know ur real good at research, if you have time see if you can find out when they were made?
George

Will do! At first I thought it was an English Conder (trade token), but it appears to be me made in the same style as those. It's definitely your find of the day and it looks like the larger one penny token! Congrats on such a stellar find! Let me see what I can find.

WOW!! That's a lot of silver for one hunt and no pin pointer, Sweeeeeet!

Here's some info on your token:

This is one of a series of medallions done in 1882, to commemorate the bi-centennial of the founding of Pennsylvania by William Penn. The medallions were made of brass and bronze, which was then gilded with gold leaf.

Very nice piece of history for your area

Oh wow, thanks Erik. Thats so cool.
Thank you for taking the time to do that!!! Neat stuff we find huh?

Yes this is just like it was in the 70's...
Silver everywhere...great job!!

Epic hunt!!! It's funny how we all got along fine without pinpointers back in the day and now I am more likely to turn around, go home and get it before even trying to detect without it. :laughing7:

WTG George, you dug in 1 hunt what many hope to dig in a year. Killer site. I can't wait to see the future goodies pulled from that site.
