3 1700's Colonial Coppers, 2 1800's Largies,Shield Nickel and More

Hello All,

Went to one of my places today and dug for four hours and what a four hours it was. Dug three colonial coppers 1787 Connecticut Copper, 1787 New Jersey Copper and a 1783 Nova Constellatio Copper. Also dug an 1839 Large Cent and a 1807 over 6 Large Cent. A nice 1869 Shield Nickel came to light along with and 1865 Indian Head Penny.
Dug some nice relics too some cool locks ,buttons and a nice buckle to go along with the coins. The weather was beautiful after all the rains so that helped to make a nice day. Thank you for taking a look.

All I can add is "OMFG"!! What a day! That NJ copper is one of the nicest I have seen in quite some time. I am sure that Don will be able to help you get an ID on the variety.

What a great hunt, such a variety of different coins~

I did attribute your NJ copper and happy to say it is a Very Scarce variety , Maris 33-U , Rarity 5 and in that condition does have some value and would be wanted by NJ collectors if you ever wanted to sell (fyi).

I did not look at the Conn or Nova coin, but maybe later if no one else chimes in. The 1807/6 Large Cent is a Sheldon 273, Very Common variety, shame it was not the small date with blunt one.

Awesome finds, the coppers are fantastic. As for the batwing buckle I think it could be quite old. I would agree with Buckleboy because of the crudeness and how thick it is, very similar to other buckles of that age period Georgian.
