Detector(s) used
Whites V3i,Whites XLT,Ace 250 and BH Tracker IV and Others.....
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I took a my usual Saturday trek to the flea market. Started past this one table and noticed a metal detector on it. I started to walk by but something "pulled" me back....I asked the guy how much he wanted for the detector and he came back with $20..I then explained to him that I didn't think it was worth that much..lol He was in the barganing mood and guess I was too...We joked a bit and he asked how much would I give him and I just said off the top of my head..$5..He looked and said sold..lol Heck..I forgot to ask him if it worked but well for 5 bucks...I have misplaced more than that at times...So I walked away from the table with the Discovery 1100 by BH and 5 bucks lighter in the wallet. Had a chance to go out for about and hour and a half so I figured I would see if it worked..put the batteries in and it came on...So off I went...It about paid for itself today..lol Found a sterling ring with what appears to be a smokey colored Topaz stone in it and some clad..but darn..I was kinda fond of the ring..Here are some pics..Thanks for looking..and HH to all

Dang, that is a nice ring. Guess it paid for itself more than once!

Geez, what a great buy. I'll give you $6 for it right now! ;D
The batteries cost more than the detector. Congrats on that find.

WTG on the detector bargain and the nice finds!

Huntin' 59er

well at that price you can actually pay for the detector $5 and say $6 on batteries and turn a profit ($11) before the batteries give out --looks like it "paid" for itself already --the rings worth more than the $11 bucks or so that you spent ----Ivan

I bought my daughter one for sl more ($30 with $15 S&H) but she has found a lot of coins, a really cool token and a Canadian quarter with hers in only about an hour. We are still a long way from paying for the detector but she likes her machine and she is good with it. Have fun and NICE RING.

5 bucks ??? WOW thats one heck of a deal
nice ring too
id buy those at 5 bucks all day long and turn them over on Ebay
LOL

man what a deal

HH

You made a great deal. That is one good looking ring too!

And who say's metal detectors are not a sound investment....

Nice ring! :o

I love the ring and the story!

Almost all the really good stuff I find could be found with any detector.

It's a great reminder to never stray too far from the basics.

Congratulations and thanks for posting that!

Good story. What a bargain.

MM offered you $6.00,I'll go $7.00,AND pay shipping.

So,there MM, :P

I'll go whole hog--$12 bucks plus shipping (leave the batteries in)--that way you break even on the detector $5 and batteries $6 and turn a profit ($1) plus you get to keep the stuff you found as "gravy" ---gee ain't I fair---huh---Ivan

What a great deal, SC!! :o I see everyone is bidding on that detector....I'll give you five dollars for the ring! ;D

You did good!!! 8)

Nana ;)

Good deal! You paid for the detector on your first hunt!
