7-14-12 rare find

This banded slate cone ? was found at a very large campsite if it were any other material it might have got tossed however it appears to be ground ,rubbed ,polished ,and worked up pretty good with the banding bullseye .Very rare and highly valued from my little knowledge the pictures dont quite capture all its awesomeness.

Looks like a real nice piece Trout! Congrats:icon_thumleft: By the way I haven't been taking any pictures, just video's , I don't have a resizer that isn't a real pain in the butt to use.

I found one of those almost identical to yours in West Central Illinois. The one I found reminded me of a worry stone of some sort. Same colors and everything. The odd thing about mine was it was found inside an abandoned building that had once been a post office/general store since the 1830-1840's. Any idea what they were for?
