I work 4 10-hour days a week. Get up at 4:30, hit the road at 5:30, get to work at 6:30, get off at 5:00pm, get home at 6:00pm. Off on Sat, Sun and Mondays.

I'm salaried, but I still have a schedule. 7:30 pm to 8:00 am. 4 nights on and 4 nights off. I show up early and stay late usually. I have never called in sick, came in late, or missed one day of work in my entire life. Which is admirable, I guess, but sometimes I do wish I could get sick and call in.

My day starts at 7 Friday morning.....it ends.....7 Wednesday morning! lol I do, however, get to lock the office at 11pm each night and only get up if the phone or doorbell rings until morning when the office needs to be open by 7am again. Some nights nothing rings....other nights....never stops! lol

I always.....think how great it would be if didn't have to work...and...had the cash to whatever I wanted...my God would I have a blast!

being such horrible shape health wize --folks do not want to hire me -- my union forced to me "medically retire' ( gee I only worked 12 hours a day 7 days a week , 8 months a year for 27 years straight onboard ship- -- in the "normal world" hours worked wize thats equal to doing 8 hours a day ,7 days a week, 365 days a year without takimg a day off for 27 years --and thats not counting the rocking and rolling "ship life" factor and the not seeing loved ones issues as well) and after a mere 3 1/2 year stuggle the govt finally agreed --yep -your a "phyiscal train wreck" --so now till I croak --I ' m on the monthly dole from the union & govt. --rough job but some ones gotta do it
by the way NORMAL SIU UNION retirement only takes a mere 30 years of 8 months per year ,12 hours a day and you must be at least a minimum of 55 years old too boot --that equal to a "normal world" --8 hours a day ,7 days a week,365 days a year job for 30 years without a day off.
that is of course if you can ship out of the union hall right away when its " go to work time" -- (fairly hard to do- till you get senior status in the union -unless your willing to take some really rotten paying / highly undesirible type jobs)
