$900 Halves on 4/14/11

picked up my weekly 500 box of halves and stopped at another bank on the way out of town and picked up another $400.. Funny thing was when I asked if they had any halves the teller said NO but the bank manager was listening and said out loud - WE HAVE $400 IN VAULT-. Told her Id take them all and she jumped out of the chair so fast she almost knocked the chair over. As they were getting the 400 another teller came up and said oh we check those for silver. CRAP!. took them anyway and was on my way. Here is what I produced

$400 halves lot:

1968 D - SILVER
1984 S - Silver PROOF
2006 D - NIFC
2003 D _ NIFC
2005 P and D _ NIFC

$500 Brinks Box

1988 P - this one is so nice it looks uncirculated and the coin is thick. I needed this one for my collection .

So those $400 halves had 2 silver they missed. Ill take it any day. Also have another $500 box of halves coming in today. Happy hunting.

You did the right thing. Always buy them all, even if the tellers say they've been searched. They'll usually be skunks, but not always. I have found quite a few silvers in "searched" rolls.

FYI - Not trying to burst your bubble, but they did not make a silver proof in 1984. Sorry.

awesome finds!!! and yes, Arkie is correct, the didnt start making silver proof coins until 1992-date, and of course halves 70 and back, and dimes and quarters 64 and back etc...sorry...
