Hello all,

My brother found these two things recently from a local sale. I am thinking the battery powered light thing may be some sort of marker light. It looks like it sticks into the ground with the spike end. Looks like a bulb screws in to the end.

The other thing we have no idea what it would be. Possibly a primitive tool or some sort of weight for a larger item.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Alan

I wonder if the second item could be part of a wooden leg. Peg leg.

Pretty sure item #1 was NOT meant to stick in the ground. It reminds me of part of a carriage lamp.

Got in contact with a guy that fixes antique lanterns, lamps, flashlights etc and he said that the first item is a parade light, carried in parades and marches. Originally, these were torches, then someone got the idea of adapting a flashlight to do the same thing. A bulb screws into the hole in the top. Unscrew the head, and insert batteries.

Thanks everyone for the help!
