A habit i'd like to keep
Hello,
This was supposed to be the last warm day here so i thought i'd make the most of it and spend the last hour of daylight MD'ing my next door neighbors yard. His yard is full of trash, but occasionally i get the delicious nugget of a great find. I was nearing the end and all i had found was a memorial and a holed canadian. I pushed my DFX to the max and headed to the area where i found an 1898 pin. I got a weak signal and decided that i should dig it up. I saw a dirty little disk at the bottom of the 8 inch hole and fought the urge to rub it. I then got a signal close by, even weaker and persue it. Unfortunately i was out of light and there was a mess of roots guarding it so i'll have to wait till spring. I got home and washed off the 2 pennies and then rinsed the silver disk. I didn't look at it until i was under god light. It turned out to be a very worn 1876 Seated Liberty Dime! Well, it was in pretty rough shape, but as my second oldest coin (between a 1857 large cent and a 1888 seated dime) i'll take it. This is the second time i found a silver coin during the first day of the hunting season- so i have high hopes for the first day hunting of '09
