Hunted a new park a historic part of the city where billy the kid was tried for murder and found this brass buckle wondering if anyone tell me if it is old

How about something for size? Is it brass?

buckles like that can range for over 100+ yrs. They can be mid 1800s, yes, but they can also be as recent as the 1940s. Heck, I think the belt I'm wearing right now has a buckle not too dis-similar to that.

Can't tell the size but looks like a cinch from a saddle.

It came up as quarter reading at 89 and it's around 5iin wide and 4in length and it's brass . I got permission to hunt the park it is old and a lot history going back this weekend

Yeah, that size it's probably off a saddle strap.

He forgot to mention some old haviland china fragments were found also. Definitely some old stuff there jimz977.
