I got in the river last weekend and was probing for bottles. I got a good sound and dug down about 6 inches. I could see it was some type of stoneware so I took my time to dig around it. I couldn't believe it was whole. I have never seen one like it with a patent date. I looked it up on Google patents and all it had was a Worthpoint site with the same jug that they sold. Thought you guys would like to see it.

Nice find, I've seen a few of these over the last few years and always liked them....

wow, it's in such good shape! did you find any other bottles?

Thanks Epackage and mamabear. I did find 2 other bottles an amber hock wine bottle which was a first and now the tallest bottle that I have (14"). I don't know much about hock wines but I would say late 1890's to the turn of the century because it's a blown bottle. I also found a late 1880's to 1890's beer or soda aqua quart bottle from East Saginaw Michigan (still have to research to find out what it was for sure). I was happy with that bottle because I have an amber one from the same guy from the early 1880's.
