A "Reale" Good Day With Some Spanish Silver!!
Hello Everyone,
I got a chance to head out to an old house site here in S. Indiana with my Fiance and BuckleBoy. We had hit the site once before with hardly anything to show for it except for a few pieces of brass. After a few minutes of searching I got my first good signal and dug an 1895 V Nickel, my first one! A little while later I dug a 1909 Wheat which looks to be in AU condition, too bad it wasn't an "09" S
. The other coin next to the "09" is the sorriest looking wheat I have ever seen! I thought it was some sort of copper cob until I scratched some of the dirt off with my finger nail and saw that it was a 1910 wheat. Some one must have taken a hammer to it! Anyway, we were about to leave when we started finding the "good stuff". Pewter spoon pieces, flat buttons, a "Kentucky Rifle" style ramrod thimble, a "Chewed" musket ball (I have no idea why this was here), and finally....... a Half Reale!!!! It's not the prettiest looking coin and it has definately seen better days, but it's still a Half Reale. The date is pretty hard to read, but it is 1785!! It's my second Half Reale. My first one was actually the VERY FIRST coin I ever dug. It was dated 1771. It's not every day you get to dig coins from THREE different centuries! BuckleBoy found some pretty neat things as well. Feel free to post a pic of them here buddy! The second to last pic is him taking a picture of the Reale in the ground and the last is of my Fiance, Leslie, relaxing by a make-shift hunting stand. Today was definately a day to remember!!! Let me know what you think. Take care and HH!
