A Step back in time (New pic's added)

I took pic's of an 'Old Cabin' today, I got permission to detect around it later on.
It was just one room, with a shed on the back full of 'old plows' & 'haybaler', etc..., there was just a fireplace, with a basket full of old jars, & a device that was used to retreive the well bucket from down in the well, (If it was accidentally dropped in).
These are like 'stepping back in time', & every year there are less & less of them left, I think of the hard life these people must have had.

Wow, there are lots of nice old wheels there for decorations and yard art. I was studying the chimney there. It
is still standing pretty straight, with all the stones still fitting nice and snug, Looks like they were dry-fit,
too. who ever did the work sure knew what they were doing.

Thanks everyone, I will wait until my hunting buddy get's loose (Okie Hillbilly), then we'll give it a good 'Going over), I will try to buy the old farming implements, if the owner will sell them.
Vera, the cabin would be 'pretty drafty'.

Great pics cant wait to see what you all get out of there! And I too love the yard ornaments... anything to save them from rusting away in a old shed! :icon_sunny:

Thanks Evy, the owner is a young man who inherited everything, maybe he will sell them.

Yes they are Judie, but this one has been exposed (on the corners), to the weather, & is starting to rot away.

I have my 'own collection' Jim, maybe a (museum) some day down the line to show the next generations.

That's right Mrs O, I wish I had me some mules or horses, it would be nice to show the young ones how to use them.
If things don't get better, we may have to go back to using all these things again.
When I was a little boy, I rode the mule around in a circle, each circle made a 'block of hay', several circles made a 'bale', the men would park the baler in the shade, (if possible'), windrow the hay with a 'sulky rake', then go down the rows with a 'bull rake', bringing it to the baler, where they fed it into the hopper with pitchforks, sometimes they would get a leg caught, while stomping the hay down.
These pic's are of 'Haybaling', my friend's Dad is in the pic , young man , second one from the right, (he died at age 97 I think).
