Hi guys,

I´m new to this world and I´m thinking on buying my first MD. I´ve been reading a lot of reviews, and it seems that the T2 is a great choice.

I´ve found it for selling at $400, shipped. Brand new.

I was wondering if this is a great MD for beginners and if it´s a great deal buying it for $400.

Thanks in advance!

Ya new ya good price good machine fast recovery speed has good depth aswell id say ull definetly b good better then.my first detector, along with the new machine look into a treasure pouch for ur finds & trash ull want 1 with a mesh bottom so dirt falls out instead of building up on the bottom, then a quality digger something good for cutting nice smooth plugs cuts roots easy & good with rocks to I have the garrett edge digger & hand lesche & a 18" samson all are great tools. Last thing although u could get by without a good pinpointer will help in recovering ur targets alot quicker less frustraion & damage to items u find remember whatever u decide to get for a detector learn it well watch online vids & read the manual more u know more finds ul.get good luck & welcome to the hobby & tnet

Ive never seen a new T2 for $400.

There are copies made overseas, beware.

Thats what I was thinking after to but then again I have gotten deals that r pretty unbeleivable as well

I've been lucky and caught a factory refurb from the manufacturer at an amazing price, but I wouldn't call it new.

Hope it works out for the original poster.

Thanks guys!

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure this is the real deal...I mean, it's indeed from "overseas"....maybe it's a copy....but I can't tell...

Here are the links for the online store (hopefully, there is no problem posting that...):

$400 it states it's the "old model"
Aliexpress.com : Buy Free shipping Wholesale and retails Teknetics T2 11" Biaxial Coil. Gold Master Metal Detector from Reliable metal detector suppliers on Hanzhou DP Electronic Co.,ltd

$458 sold as the "new model"
HOT SELL !! Teknetics T2 Plus Gold Master Metal Detector-in Security & Protection from Home Improvement on Aliexpress.com

Is there this sort of thing as old and new models? What's the difference?

Here is the link for other itens of the store...same seller...there are other MDs, some cheaper, some more expensive than the T2...
Hanzhou DP Electronic Co.,ltd - Small Orders Online Store, Hot Selling gpx5000,metal detector,Pinpoint and more on Aliexpress.com

If someone could check it out and, if possible, let me know it's worth the shot...

Thanks guys! Cheers

Idk Man i just looked at it looks like the real deal feedback is good but there has only been 6 people could b all friends or family ya know to me not enough people ordered to say ok ill send $400 over seas for a machine thats worth more then double i think id skip it Man sorry could b real idk big risk

In my humble opinion, I'd email your links to Teknetics and run away as fast as I could.

I hunt with a guy that swings a T2, I have a F75. The T2 is as deep or deeper than the more expensive F75. The T2 has more iron discrimination settings, and is a relic hunter for sure. My friend with the T2 has a setting he just smashes the jewlrey with. He has yet to find a silver coin. My F75 is more suited for the silver it seems. The T2 is the only machine a person would ever need for land hunting. There is many features you wont get with other machines. Backlighed for low light conditions. The ability to adjust threshold, to better suit the sound to your own hearing is also a plus. The T2 is a monster machine, and a great machine to grow with.

Ok thats a good reveiw but not the issue issue is, is theres a shady dealer that the op thinks might b a scam I do agree the t2 is a great detector though

No way No how buy that knockoff...it`s a fake ,might look the same on the outside, but the guts Are not The Same...you will be sorry if you buy it.

$400.00 dollars is what you would expect to pay for a used T2. But I would not buy anything from over seas. I have had some great experiences from a few sellers on the forum. You dont see many T2's for sale, for a reason. Tesero makes a madel in yoru price range also, and is a go getter also.

save up 200 more and get ya a AT pro

Do you think the AT Pro is better than the T2?

I'm planning to use it on land and, maybe, on the beach...but mostly on land...the thing is, the soil here seems to be highly minerized (quartz), so I would need a MD that could work on that kind of soil...

The thing is, I have $540 for the MD....what MD I could buy on this range? IF the AT Pro is really worth it, maybe I could manage to put an extra $50 to buy one...

Thanks!

EDIT: I've sent an e-mail to teknetics with the links and asking if they have authorized dealers there in China....we never know... :)

EDIT2: The terrains I plan to detect were known on the past (1700s-1800s) for gold mines....so a MD that do good detecting gold would be a plus...

Teknetics has a G2 higher frequency for gold. Similar to my Fisher Gold Bug Pro, coils are interchangeable I think.

Read the forum gold threads if you have time.

I have never even seen a AT Pro being used so have no comment on it. I know the F75 which is basically the same as the T2 does well in the sand tot lots here. If you plan to water hunt, the AT is waterproof. But I dont hunt in the rain nor am I a diver so no need for a waterproof detector. The learning curve of the T2 may be a bit overwhelming for a new user, and the much simpler AT Pro may fit your needs. I know the T2 to be deep, and stable. I hunt almost very weekend with a guy who owns one, and feel confident in my assessment. The T2 will let you grow with it as you learn it. Again there is several machines out there to fit your bill. A call to a sponsor may be able to give you some ideas. Before you buy, spend time on research. This hobby is about the hunt, and research will make you a winner, or a looser here. There is a nice compare chart at Kellyco detectors, its hard to find it, but well worth a few minutes of your time once you have narrowed down a few detectors. Also if you buy new, Tesero has a lifetime warranty. Talking with sponsors will also give you a feel for service after the sale. A basic understanding of the science behind metal detectors will explain how the detector works also. There is some new detectors out there also, with a lot of bang for your buck. I dont push brand here, its about being confident your detector is working. If your not confident in your detector, you wont dig with it. When I first started, I wish I had knew about the options I have given you. Looking back, a Tesero or T2 would have been perfect detectors for me and my land hunts.

If you only want to spend $450, try a used teknetics Omega. Easy to use. Not quite as deep as a T2, but still good.

I checked 'em out, they're fakes. It's illegal to import them into the United States, and any fake that comes to us for warranty service will be confiscated.
